There are many people who think that they know everything these days. Just because they know how to ‘google’ the internet to find information that they want, they consider themselves knowledgeable and entitled to give ‘expert’ opinions and ridicule other people. Gosh! I loathe arrogant and short-thinking people. Put them in-charge at Lahad Datu, they would probably quit on the first day not knowing where to start and what to do. I suspect they would even crawl for cover the second they see the intruders, and not dare emerge from behind the rock/tree without the authorities standing in front of them.
So, far from the troubled land and at the comfort of their home, they dare to keep attacking the police and the authorities as though they can do a better job. Of course, everyone would like the conflict to end ASAP but is going ‘gong ho’ and hit the intruders hard our best option? Have they fully considered all the surrounding issues such as the laws, international relations, the safety of our security personnel and local people and not to mentioned the backlash from Sulu people and all their sympathizers? Even the West are also keeping their watchful eyes close at the situation in Lahad Datu and are ready to pounce when given the opportunity under the pretext of ‘human rights’.

I would like to call all Malaysians to support our security personnel in Lahad Datu and other affected areas and pray for their safety. Let them do their job and process all the available options given to them. Like a commenter at one blog said:
The Malaysian military and police are not fools. They have been in this game since 1948 and earlier, when many of us, including the prime minister, home minister and many others were not even born. So those Malaysians impatient for a quick resolution to this problem should be patient and trust the judgement of the military and police to know what they are doing.
There are reports saying that the attack has been carefully planned since several months ago. I won’t be surprised if they had planned it earlier than that. This Sulu people might not be the smartest, but they surely know enough about Malaysia especially Sabah and how sneak in and out of this country without being detected by the authorities. After all, they have been doing it for many years. Some get caught, some don’t. Those that survive will live to tell the others how to do it and after so many years they probably have developed the most effective way to get pass the Malaysian border and landed in Sabah. A Sabahan recently posted a comment in A Voice Blog:
Kwn2, allow me a moment of indulgence to clear the foul stench of stupidity amongst the Malaysians. Kes kat LD is nothing new to us sbhns, in the 90s they abruptly came to the shore at Semporna and immediately bombed the police stations, and went amuck at the town. They are smart people, some left at the sea naik dr kwsn bakau and lived 4 6 mth b4 start to mingle with locals and married them. The tausugs in LD now didn’t come all at once; instead they came in batches, with inside helping from their family at the village. Trust me they have been there at least 2 3 mth b4 the group becomes complete, then they decide it’s time to wage war.
I’m not a Sabahan but I have lived here long enough to see that there are many Sulu people here among the locals. Many of them are good people and genuinely come here to seek better lives. But I have heard that there are quite a number of them that are still attached to the Kesultanan Sulu and will probably react if things are not carefully addressed in Lahad Datu. The recent incident in Semporna and Kunak (notwithstanding IGP’s statement that its not related to Lahad Datu) suggest that there are probably more of these intruders all around Sabah and these people will keep testing the patience our authorities and hope they will act foolishly and therefore attract retaliation from Sulus all over Sabah. As Tuan Syed from OutSyedTheBox rightly pointed out in his blog:
If there is any large scale action where the Sulus get killed in large numbers, it will be most undesirable. We need to avoid a Memali type situation. Let’s not create martyrs for decades to come. We have to exercise much wisdom and caution. If there is a huge loss of life among the Sulus it will also cause major problems for the Philippine Government as well, especially since we are the Facilitators in the Peace Process in the Southern Philippines. Our relations with the Philippine Government may become strained. I believe this is what some people here want to happen….If the Peace Process is scuttled it will mean more headache, more fighting and more bloodshed in the Southern Philippines and Sabah for many more years to come. So we have to tread carefully here as well.
Of course some of you might not care. Living far away from the affected area, probably somewhere at tall office buildings in Kelang Valley or at kedai mamak in Brickfield finishing your roti canai and teh tarik, you decided to leave your arrogant comments in blogs or website and branded the authority as ‘BODOH’ or ‘PENAKUT’. You also probably don’t feel any remorse seeing the young boy in the TV looking completely confused as he sees the body of his dead father being carried from Lahad Datu back to Semenanjung.
At the moment, I fear the safety of my family and all the people in Sabah. I might stay in KK, about 10 hours’ drive to Lahad Datu but if things are not handled properly, who knows if hell breaks loose! We Malaysians are blessed with so many good things – peace and harmony and plenty of wealth as well. It’s like heaven on earth. There are lots of bad people out there. Whether they are in or outside this country, they really have the same intention – to take away what we have here in Malaysia. So, please support our security personnel, pray for them, pray for their safety and pray for us in Sabah.
