GE13-Sabah

Just one more day before Malaysians go to vote. I’m pumped up now and can’t wait to cast my vote. Had a few SMSes coming in with good news and there are good chances that BN will regain its two third majority. With that, I hope PM can look forward to continue with his transformation programme and there will be less politicking after GE13. We can continue with our own lives and Malaysians, please don’t be stupid and get involved with any type of demonstrations post-election. Respect the majority and help build a better nation for us to live in.

As I said, Sabah will deliver the bulk of seats for BN. I don’t know if BN Sabah will better its performance in 2008 but the sign is: up to 90% seats (Parliament and State) will go to BN. The failure of the opposition pact to compromise on the allocation of seats means there will be a number of three and four corners fight in Sabah. This really works in favour of BN, especially all the opposition here (SAPP, Star, PR and Bebas) are barking on the same issues. Their votes will surely split and even in certain areas where BN looked not so convincing before the nomination day, can now be considered 50 – 50 chances.

The CM has decided to retain most of the old timers in Sabah. Even Bung Mokhtar Radin has a place in BN’s line-up for this year election. While many feel that chances should be given to new faces, still CM acted rationally, knowingly that these old timers are still healthy enough to do their job and there are no major issues arising in their area. Why fix it if it ain’t broken, right? Bukan senang nak jadi YB tau! Kalau muda dan kuat tetapi tidak ‘wise’ enough to handle the people in your area pun payah jugak. Plus, if you are smart and highly educated tapi muka ‘bengis’ 24 hours per day, how are you going to approach the voters?

One thing that I notice is that people in the rural areas or the ‘kampung’ folks are more expressive. If they are pro-BN, they will put BN’s flag at their house. If they are pro-SAPP, you can see SAPP’s flag at the compound of their house. Still, they are good with each other. Tak der gaduh-gaduh macam orang bandar. :D They may be less educated but their understanding of democracy and other people’s rights seems to be better than highly educated town people. Plus, they are probably happier with their life than rich people in the town area.

If election is solely based on how many flags put up by folks at their house, then BN will definitely overwhelmed the opposition in Sabah. I know mamat-mamat Pakatan Sabah at FB, blogs and Twitter are the loudest but when it comes to head counts, they are just the  minority. Even their leaders are now resigned to the fact that they are no longer accepted by the majority of people in this country. That explains why they are resorting to baseless accusations against BN and the government – claiming phantom voters etc without providing hard evidence to support their accusations.

Over to Johor, reports from there stated that Johoreans will do their best to keep their way of life, i.e rejecting racist-based politics brought in by Pakatan big guns such as Lim Kit Siang. The Malays and Indians are strongly behind Dato’ Abdul Ghani Othman in Gelang Patah. So, it is just a case of getting around 30% to 40% Chinese votes in a predominant Chinese area. I hope the truly Malaysian leader, Dato’ Abdul Ghani Othman will prevail over Lim. By the way, my ex-classmate is also standing as BN’s candidate in Muar for the first time this year. I hope people will vote for her because she is such a nice person, hardworking and exemplary.

Oh ya, I got my ‘Kit Tindakan’ just on time for the election. It’s an important guideline for the upcoming election especially when there are several changes made to the procedure this year. Plus, they give free car stickers as well. Boleh lah lekat kat kereta, so the Pakatan people won’t come and ‘ceramah’ me before election he he.. Lain Kali Lah!
